I have always had a very love - hate relationship with skirts. As someone who has attended a Catholic school for fourteen years, and forced to wear a plaid ruffle skirt every single day, you can safely say I was not so keen on wearing skirts outside of school unless I really needed to. But something I have noticed this year is the comeback of the ruffled skirt. I am not talking about that skin tight black mini skirt you wear when going out with your friends - I am talking about that skirt you would wear out to brunch with your family, or the skirt you pair some sneakers with and a baggy tee and go wander the streets of SOHO with your friends. That ruffle skirt. I decided to extend an olive branch towards the skirts of the world, and buy a ruffle skirt. I only got one because I was hesitant if I would like the trend, and did not want to waste my money if I ended up hating it, but I can happily say this did not end up being the case. Before I go into my new found love for ruffle skirts, let me make a disclaimer. I will always always love my black mini skirt - I feel good, I (hopefully) look good, and you can never go wrong with a nice mini skirt. However, I would always hate constantly pulling it down to make sure it was not too skin tight, and sometimes it looked unnecessary for the occasion. But with this ruffle skirt, none of those issues come up what so ever! Since it is a loose skater style fit, I do not need to worry about it riding up or being too skin tight. I do not need to worry about eating too much and my stomach popping out of the mini skirt's tightness. With the ruffle skirt, I feel free to be! Nothing is constricting me, and I am as comfy as ever. If you are someone like me who was hesitant about this trend because of some um scarring experiences, you have no need to worry. This trend is perfect for everyone :)
